About Me
Hey there! I'm Neeraj, a software developer based in Gurugram, India.
What I Do
I build things with code. Over the past 8+ years, I've worked on everything from analytics platforms to creative automation tools to security software. Currently, I'm a founding engineer at Adaptive, where we're building a data protection and privileged access management platform for fintech and healthcare companies.
My Journey
I started my career as a test engineer at Qualcomm in San Diego, where I worked on location modules for mobile devices. Since then, I've had the opportunity to work at several startups, wearing many hats along the way - from writing code to leading product development.
I've been fortunate to work on some interesting problems:
- Building data pipelines that process millions of records
- Creating tools that help businesses make better decisions
- Developing systems that protect sensitive data
Education
I hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington (2011-13) and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai (2006-10). My academic background in electrical and electronics engineering gave me a strong foundation in problem-solving and systems thinking, which I've applied throughout my software development career.
Beyond Code
When I'm not coding, you'll find me:
- Reading non-fiction books (I'm always looking for recommendations!)
- Learning new languages (the human kind - I speak English, Marathi, Konkani, and Hindi fluently, and I'm learning Spanish)
- Watching Formula 1 races and following the drama of the paddock
Tech I Love
I primarily work with Go and Python these days, but I've also spent a lot of time with JavaScript and React. I'm a fan of building cloud-native applications with Docker and Kubernetes, and I have a soft spot for PostgreSQL.
I believe in writing simple, maintainable code and building things that actually solve real problems.
